What is Evan’s Team?

Evan’s team is a group effort committed to helping the community. There are times we need to raise awareness or times we need to raise funds. But either way, we all enjoy working together and making something good happen.

Our team continues to challenge ourselves with events that are fun in participation, but also very relevant in accomplishing ambitious goals.

Our first project was aimed at helping trauma patients and families at the Westchester Medical Center by aiding in a much needed remodeling of the family area. On a daily basis, helicopters efficiently medevac patients from all over New York State for what will inevitably be an extended stay for that patient. Effectively treating a trauma victim also includes aid to family members who have been surprised by a loved-one’s injury and need to be educated on life-sustaining decisions. However, the previous waiting-area left room for improvement for the family members hunkering in for a long stay. We completed an expanded waiting area and created a block of rooms where those families can rest comfortably in dorm sleeper rooms, private doctor consult rooms, a nutrition area, locker room and shower.

The NCHS to Celebrate 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage in New York with a Party in Greeley’s Garden on Sept. 15

July 10, 2017 by The Inside Press

2017 marks the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in New York State.  NYS awarded this right to women three years before the 19th Amendment expanded it nationwide.

In honor of this significant anniversary, the New Castle Historical Society (NCHS) is hosting “A Party in Greeley’s Garden: Celebrating 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage in NYS,” on Friday, September 15, 2017.  All proceeds from the event support the NCHS; and a portion of these funds will be used toward the creation of a special exhibition exploring the Women’s Suffrage Movement and the life of Carrie Chapman Catt, a leading suffragist and a former Town of New Castle resident.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting this celebration in the form of an auction item, sponsorship, or contribution.  Any sponsorship or auction item (large or small), helps us to preserve and share local history.

As an independent, donor-supported non-profit organization, the NCHS relies entirely upon the generosity of private supporters like you to advance our mission. We are not an agency or department of the town or school district or any other government entity.  For more information,  contact Cassie Ward, 914 238-4666, director@NewCastleHS.org   Also, visit www.NewCastleHS.org

The Inside Press is proud to be Media Sponsor for this event.

Blum Sisters’ Lemonade Stand to Raise Dollars for Childhood Cancer Research: June 17

June 1, 2017 by Inside Press

Blum Sisters ready to sell

Rebecca (age 12) and Jenna (age 9) are hosting the 4th annual Blum Sisters’ Lemonade Stand to raise money for childhood cancer research and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

After losing their grandfather Papa Neal this year to brain cancer, they are even more motivated to help advance research and treatment for this devastating disease. To date, they have raised more than $4,000 and have a goal of raising $2,000 this year.

Blum Sisters’ Lemonade Stand benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research will take place Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chappaqua Farmer’s Market. Local residents can come by for a cup of freshly squeezed lemonade (yes, we squeeze hundreds of lemons by hand).

Donations can be made here: https://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1317095
