Testimonials

An ‘Extraordinary’ Testimonial from the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester to Honor 20 Years of Inside Press

November 10, 2023 by The Inside Press

“First of all, Grace is extraordinary. As a person and as the CEO of a local non-profit organization, to have the opportunity to partner with someone like Grace who is so collaborative and creative and can make introductions and connect people… that is a unique gift. Working with Grace is extraordinary!

Secondarily, I value the opportunity not just to work with Grace but with her whole team. Inside Press publications give you an opportunity to have your message go directly into someone’s home, which I believe gives you credibility.

Thirdly, from the perspective of trying to improve brand awareness within our community, the publications that Inside Press produces are extraordinary. People trust you. People know or come to learn that you are part of the community. Not only do we all read all of your publications to keep on top of the pulse of what’s going on in the community, but we are also appreciative that we can share our own messaging with the community regarding very important initiatives to improve programming for children.

Lastly, Grace and her team recognize the importance of collaboration, spotlighting so many different agencies, “sharing the heart of our community” which is beautiful, and in so doing so, The Inside Press educates the community on the importance of a partnership between us all. In this way, we leverage resources we learn about to be that much more effective, provide that much more impact, and to be that much more fiscally responsible. As a long-time reader, I have found Grace and the Inside Press team adept at educating the community on available resources.

We are so grateful to The Inside Press for producing publications that has improved our business by enabling us to better educate the community regarding ongoing programming at the Boys and Girls Club for all children ages 3 to 18, in addition to strengthening families, and therefore, the community.”

Hillary Rodham Clinton on Inside Chappaqua

August 18, 2023 by The Inside Press

I’ve been known to say, “It takes a village,” and I still believe that’s true. In a world where negative forces are everywhere, nothing gives me more cause for optimism and hope than Americans coming together with their neighbors to celebrate joyful moments and care for each other in hard ones. That’s why Inside Chappaqua’s mission to “share the heart of the community,” is so urgent and so meaningful.

Local news is an increasingly rare resource. Since 2005, about 25 percent of America’s newspapers have shuttered. Today, nearly 70 million Americans live in communities without a local news source – also known as “local news deserts.” Our communities and country suffer for it.

When Bill and I first moved to Chappaqua 22 years ago, the only local media outlets were school and town newsletters. Grace Bennett, a longtime Chappaqua resident and graduate of Columbia University’s journalism school, knew that a community as remarkable as ours needed more local coverage. So she did what all gutsy women do when they identify a problem: she came up with a solution. That solution was Inside Chappaqua.

I’ve been fortunate to be interviewed by Grace, and to read her coverage of everything from extraordinary Chappaqua residents to forgotten local histories to the Democratic National Convention. She even came with me to Africa when I was Secretary of State. She and her talented freelance staff make sure that no Chappaqua story, small or large, goes unnoticed. Since 2003, Grace has maintained and expanded readership through huge changes and difficult times in the world, by keeping our communities connected and informed.

The events reported in local press may seem small, but these happenings are the stuff of our lives. Memorials, performances, local traditions and histories: these are the things that bring us together and remind us of our shared humanity. And local reporting has a measurable impact on how we relate to and care for each other. Research shows that places with less access to local news have lower voter turnout and greater polarization.

For 20 years, Inside Chappaqua has been one of the positive forces that help keep our town vibrant and big-hearted. Under Grace’s leadership, this mighty news magazine helps us stay connected to our neighbors, our community, and to the world outside our village. Here’s to the next 20 years!

20 Years of Inside Press: What Makes Us Stand Out?

February 25, 2023 by The Inside Press

First in a Series of Advertiser Testimonials in 2023

As we celebrate 20 years of publishing at Inside Press, we asked some of our longtime sponsors (1) why they have chosen to continue working with Inside Press for so many years, (2) how advertising has helped their business, and (3) for any additional comments.

Armonk Tennis Club

“We’ve continued working with Inside Press because the magazines have interesting content. A publication can be widely distributed, but if there’s nothing compelling inside, people will lose interest before ever seeing your ad. However, Grace is consistently focused on finding stories that will appeal to her readers, so we’re confident that our ads are seen.”

“Since Inside Press does such a good job covering the communities we serve, advertising with them has helped us get our word out in an efficient way. It’s especially important when we advertise our summer camps, to let people know that even though we’re a tennis club, we have programs that aren’t solely focused on tennis. That has helped us increase enrollment in our multi-sport and science camps.”

“Congratulations on 20 years!”

Beecher Flooks Funeral Home

“I like the content of the magazine. It is a ‘feel good’ read. The fact that it is local is the most important part since my business is local to those who read the magazine. I still believe in print media and enjoy picking up Inside and reading it.”

“In this business, it is difficult to ask people how or why you came to me. I do believe that by local people seeing the ad, it makes them somewhat familiar with us, and that can be comforting at those difficult times!”

“Just continue doing what you are doing! It is working!”

Dodds Wine & Spirits

doddswineandspirits.com

“We at Dodd’s continue to work with Grace and the Inside Press because of its very local nature. There are publications that cover our county along with the multiple counties around us. The Inside Press covers what’s happening in your immediate neighborhood, whether it be Chappaqua, Millwood, Pleasantville, Briarcliff, or Armonk.

“Advertising with Inside Press has helped our business significantly because the area has experienced such an increase in new residents. People that are new to the area rely on advice and information from their neighbors as well as things they read about in the hyper local news magazines. We want people that are new to the area to read about what’s going on around them, what to do, and where to shop.”

“If you live in these areas, the content of the Inside Press is interesting and informative, and we feel that residents genuinely make a point to read it. This, in turn, gives us good exposure to an expanded readership that will be encouraged to shop local and support businesses in their community.”

“I think Grace and her team have done a great job with the magazine over the years. We have been with her for a long time. I like the way the magazine is designed by Lisa; it gives us a positive presentation for the area.”

“It’s always nice to have the exposure. We try to present a compelling ad to represent our brand, our shop, and it helps us do that.”

“Grace is a great person. She produces a wonderful product, and it’s a pleasure working with her.”

Hickory & Tweed (Skip)

“Number one, we continue to advertise because of Grace. Number two, because it’s our target audience. I grew up in Chappaqua, Horace Greeley Class of ‘72, and worked here at Hickory & Tweed all four years while I was there, so there’s a warm spot in my heart for Chappaqua and Armonk customers.”

“It brings in new customers who are new to the area.”

“This is our 61st year in Armonk and we’ve been working with Chappaqua and Armonk customers all those years. They’re all part of the Hickory & Tweed family.”
