PRESS RELEASE-TASTE OF CHAPPAQUA

Contact Rob@chappaqua-millwoodchamber.org

Sidewalk Sale days will wrap up with food and music celebration on
Saturday, July 21!

Our three-day Sidewalk Sale event — Thursday July 19 through Saturday
July 21 — culminates in culinary celebration, with local restaurants
showing off for our 1st Annual Taste of Chappaqua, sponsored by the
Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce. Food establishments — both
old favorites and new-comers — will provide samples of their delectable food
on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Taste of Chappaqua will also feature three contests — Best Dessert, Best
Pizza and Best Sandwich — judged by shoppers and passers-by from 12:00
to 4:00 p.m. as they visit the participating food merchant booths.

Scorecards will be available at each of the tasting tables. Contestants will be
scored based on presentation, taste and creativity. One winner will be chosen
in each of the three categories. We’ll announce the winners at an awards
ceremony at 4:00 p.m. at the Chamber table near Desires by Mikolay, where
ribbons will be awarded.

And since this event coincides with Sidewalk Sale Days, there will be games,
giveaways and great shopping! The Chamber of Commerce will have a table
giving away balloons, car magnets and informational materials about the
Chamber and its mission to create a vibrant business district.

And what’s a party without music?

Amble down to the gazebo for a free concert from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. by the
kids from Renaissance Education, Music & Sports. From their home in
the Bronx, the band travels all over the area with make-you-wanna dance,
inspirational songs. On Saturday, you’ll find the kids in two’s and three’s,
positioned around the downtown, serenading us before their 12:30 p.m.
concert.

Lecture re Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer

July 11, 2012 by Inside Press

NORTHERN WESTCHESTER HOSPITAL AND AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY

CO-SPONSOR FREE MONTHLY PROSTATE HEALTH & WELLNESS MEETINGS

August 9 Topic:  “The Latest in Radiation Therapy”

Northern Westchester Hospital and the American Cancer Society are co-sponsoring free, monthly meetings for men on Prostate Health & Wellness.  The meeting–held the second Thursday of each month–are facilitated by a prostate cancer survivor and offer information, encouragement, discussion and support by an interdisciplinary team of professionals.

Dr. Alfred Tinger will speak on “The Latest in Radiation Therapy—IMRT vs. Cyberknife” on Thursday, August 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Conference Room D at NWH, 400 East Main Street, Mt. Kisco.  To register, call the American Cancer Society at 800-227-2345.

The monthly prostate health meetings are the brainchild of Dr. Warren Bromberg, director of the Prostate Cancer Program at NWH, who pointed out that prostate cancer affects more than 200,000 men each year.  If caught early, however, prostate cancer has a high treatment success rate. Visit www.nwhc.net/ProstateLectures  to view a schedule of topics for the year.
