Perhaps it’s the crisp morning air or the excitement of a new school year. Summer’s slower pace gives way to fuller calendars, and suddenly our communities are buzzing with activity once again.
Our Fall/Back-to-School issues have become my favorites to publish. This year, we’ve truly hit the jackpot with three incredible cover stories featuring remarkable alumni whose talent, determination, and hometown pride continue to inspire us.
For Inside Armonk, you’ll meet three Byram Hills graduates who are carrying on the family legacy at Zaro’s Family Bakery. Their compelling story is beautifully told by Ella Ilan and getting to know the Zaro brothers–and their proud father, Stuart–was one of the highlights of my summer.
Our Inside Chappaqua cover story shines a spotlight on Olympic gold medalist Aerin Frankel. We were honored to meet the skilled, fierce, kind, and humble goalie for the USA Women’s Olympic Hockey Team, whose remarkable journey is beautifully captured by Inside Press writer Stacey Pfeffer. Aerin is an inspiration to young athletes everywhere.

For Inside Pleasantville, writer Abby Luby had the rare opportunity to interview hometown breakout singer-songwriter Mark Ambor. His viral, globe-spanning hit Belong Together has introduced millions to his heartfelt songwriting and appreciation for his small-town roots. Most recently, Mark joined Ed Sheeran’s North American Loop Tour as a featured special guest, performing in front of a crowd of more than 60,000 people.
In honor of our country’s 250th anniversary, we’ve also taken a nostalgic look back at the history of each of our communities through fascinating stories and vintage photographs. And that’s just the beginning–you’ll also find features celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Jacob Burns Film Center and the 100th anniversary of the Capitol Theatre, two beloved cultural institutions that continue to enrich our region.
I hope you enjoy reading this issue as much as our team enjoyed creating it.
As always, thank you to our advertisers, contributors, photographers, and loyal readers for making Inside Press possible.
Here’s to new beginnings, cherished traditions, and a wonderful fall in Armonk, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, and Briarcliff Manor!

Elise
