D Spot Special Gathering for Women who are Creating their new Life After Divorce

May 31, 2012 by The Inside Press

On June 27th,   Ryebrook, New York I hope you can join me for an empowering night I’ve created especially for women who are separated, divorcing or moving forward after divorce.

I am a divorce expert, life and love strategist, and CEO of the D Spot.  I recently began speaking to small groups of divorced women in an intimate and informal setting about the very real challenges we all face in creating our new lives after divorce.  I also recently launched my new book “The Ultimate Divorce Organizer”, which has been getting outstanding reviews.

I would like to invite you to a special evening where I can speak with you personally, answer the questions you always want to ask (but may have been afraid to!), and give you some clarity and tips on how to make sure you get on a path to an extraordinary life!

I have created these intimate evenings as an opportunity for women to come together in a comfortable, safe place to talk about exactly what it takes to create your new, exceptional life after divorce.

This evening will be particularly special as we will have CNBC with us to observe and film what we, as women, want and need as we move through the transition of divorce.  They may ask if there are those of you who would like to answer a few questions, but nothing that you would need to prepare for in any way.  And, should you wish not to be filmed in any way, that is no problem!

Stories from the Fringe: Women Rabbis, Revealed

May 31, 2012 by The Inside Press

Sunday, June 10, 2012, 5:00 PM

Temple Beth El is proud to present, direct from the Jewish Women’s Theatre in Los Angeles, an exclusive one-night-only performance of Stories from the Fringe: Women Rabbis, Revealed! Finding holy moments, in love, God and a fabulous pair of shoes.

Provocative, heartfelt and humorous, the play draws from interviews of 18 Los Angeles women rabbis revealing the unique journeys that brought them to the rabbinate.

The play celebrates and marks an historic moment in Jewish history, the ordination of the first woman rabbi, Sally Preisand, in America forty years ago.

Stories from the Fringe, was written by Ronda Spinak and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Rabbi Lynne A. Kern.  It is based on oral interviews with the rabbis whose stories all speak of their pioneering work to break the glass ceiling of an all male-led Jewish tradition.

Some of the proceeds from this performance will support Jewish Women’s Theatre and the newly created Story Archive of Women Rabbis.

Tickets for this event are $36 adults, $28 seniors 65+, $28 for students under 18.  For more information and to purchase tickets, please go to communications@bethelnw.org.

New York Rock Academy Kicks Off Summer With Two Sizzling Events on June 15 and 16 Special guest – Dave Bickler of Survivor

May 30, 2012 by The Inside Press

As the temperature rises, New York Rock Academy  (NYRA) kicks off the summer with two sizzling events.  On Friday June 15 at 2:45 p.m. NYRA and the Town of New Castle will present the “Chappaqua Outdoor Rockfest” – an event geared especially for teens. Bands from NYRA’s top level music program have been gearing up for this exciting free show at the Town’s beautiful new Gazebo located across the street from the Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave. Chappaqua.

Janet Angier, Director of Music in Chappaqua and New York Rock Academy is thrilled to be teaming up with the Town of New Castle to give families and teens a memorable afternoon.  “The gazebo is a great place to have a concert, ” she said. Matt Nordt, the Town’s Recreation Supervisor said, “Our Wednesday concerts are geared toward adults, and we wanted to plan a special event for teens.” The timing fits in with when the middle school lets out, and students are encouraged to bring snacks and enjoy the show.  This is the second of a series – the first was held in the fall.
New York Rock Academy student Victoria Robinson, 11, a fifth grader at the Robert E. Bell Middle School in Chappaqua, is performing at a rock concert held last fall.
On Saturday June 16 from 2-5 p.m. students  from New York Academy’s program will take center stage at New York City’s iconic Bitter End for a concert to show off their musical chops – and for many it’s a chance to gear up for NYRA’s day camp which begins in July.
Dave Bickler, a Chappaqua resident and lead singer of Grammy-award winning “Eye of the Tiger” will be a special guest at both concerts. Bickler has been a mentor at the New York Rock Academy for two years and has found the experience rewarding. “I get a big kick out of working with students,” he said. His son, Luke, 11, studies voice at Music in Chappaqua.
