40 Photos for a Cure

October 29, 2013 by The Inside Press

lighthouseIn honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a cousin and close friend who is currently battling breast cancer, I am donating half of my net profits from all of my pink artwork sold throughout the month of October to the Susan G.Komen Fund for the Cure. Whether you want to start your holiday shopping early or treat yourself to something beautiful to put on your wall, hurry over to my online gallery by October 31, 2013 and buy art in support of this endeavor. You can find my photos on holiday greeting cards and iPhone cases as well as in frames or as loose prints, on both large and small canvases, on metal and acrylic. Whether your tastes run to intense pink sunsets by the shore, views of New England lighthouses at twilight, bold pink flowers and butterflies, or large abstract works, you are sure to find something to inspire you.

I know we are in a tough economy and there are so many good causes out there, so I’ve priced my smaller images with an eye to making it easier for those on a limited budget to be able to help out.

Even if a purchase isn’t possible right now, thanks for taking a look and for all your “likes” on facebook, pins, and encouragement.

Here is thfinearte link to those pink photos for sale on Fine Art America and on pixels.com

Did You Know that there are Six Ballot Proposals in November?

By Mary Kirsch

League of Women Voters of New Castle Board Member

Election Day approaches! We will make our way to the polls in spite of being busy and/or tired, sometimes in spite of bad weather.  We are motivated knowing that voting is an important responsibility and should be taken seriously.

Well, brace yourselves! This November there are six statewide ballot questions. The ballot proposals are:

1. Casino gambling

2. Civil Service Credit for Veterans with Disabilities Certified Post-Appointment

3. Exclusion of Indebtedness Contracted for Sewage Facilities

4. Settling Disputed Title in the Forest Preserve

5. In Relation to a Land Exchange in the State Forest Preserve with NYCO Minerals, Inc.

6. Increasing Age until which Certain State Judges Can Serve

The NYS League of Women Voters has compiled a brief summary of each proposal and presented the pros and cons (if any) of a yes vote for each proposal. Click HERE to see the summary. Also, a pamphlet titled “2013 Voters Guide Part II” is being distributed by the LWV of New Castle. Look for it at our Candidates’ Night on October 24th at 7:00 p.m. at the Chappaqua Library Theater. You can also find it online at www.lwvny.org and as part of www.Vote411.org.
