Trick or Treat and Boo-tiquing on Friday in Town

Calling all ghosts and goblins, pirates and princesses! The Town of New Castle and Kiwi Country Day Camp are proud to present “Downtown Chappaqua Halloween” on Friday, October 31st. Residents are invited to trick-or-treat at your favorite local BOO-tiques. This fun family event will feature lots of candy, a photo booth, fun characters & giveaways.

Streets will be open to traffic, so children must be accompanied by adults.

Apple Pie Contest Rules for next Saturday

Get out your rolling pins!

The Fall Festival apple pie baking contest is Saturday, October 25th!

The rules are simple: your pie must be made with LOCAL apples and your crust must be made from scratch. No 50/50 pies (frozen crust with homemade filling), please.

No need to pre-register; just bring your baked beauty to the market tent by 10:30am. Please put your name on a piece of tape and stick it on the bottom of your pan so we can return it to you.

Bring an index card with your name and phone number on one side and the recipe and ingredient list on the other. If the recipe is a family secret, no need to share, but, please, do list your ingredients and variety of apple used.

Anti Defamation League Launches its “No Place for Hate” Initiative in Westchester

Anti-Defamation League New York Region is proud to announce that it has expanded its outreach to Westchester County with the creation of the Westchester Advisory Committee. Chaired by Chappaqua resident Lawrence Bahr, the committee will work together to implement the goals and objectives for ADL in Westchester County. To kick off the launch, on October 21st, the Westchester Advisory Committee will host its inaugural event at the Metropolis Country Club in White Plains: ADL in Westchester. This event will showcase No Place For Hate®, our school wide anti-bias, anti-bullying initiative, and will feature speaker Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, Principal Reginald Richardson, and a student from New Rochelle High School. Watch as they turn a comic eye on the things that drive us all crazy about motherhood, like temper tantrums, over-scheduling, puberty, clueless spouses and much, much more … as well as the joy our children bring us.
