September 28, 2013 by The Inside Press

templebethelSunday, November 3, 2013 from 4:30 to 6:00 PM

Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester,
220 South Bedford Road, Chappaqua

Temple Beth is proud to be hosting the Northern Westchester Food Festival. Join us on Sunday, November 3 from 4:30 to 6 pm, as the Northern Westchester community comes together to taste the culinary offerings from local restaurants and purveyors.

According to Susan Pecker, Vice President of Temple Beth El, the event organizer, “we wanted to find a way to reach out to bring the entire community together and focus on the common values we all share. I thought we should have the Festival at Thanksgiving time when we are all focused on food and what we are grateful for.”

Proceeds from this event will benefit Mazon – an organization whose mission is “To provide for people who are hungry while at the same time advocating for other ways to end hunger and its causes.”

This event is open to everyone in the community.  The price for the event is $18 per person and $25 per family.

September 17, 2013 by The Inside Press

Seeking B’nai Mitzvah Student with the Most Compelling Video Essay – November 1st Deadline!

WHAT: B’nai mitzvah students are being offered a chance to win a free bar or bat mitzvah at WeeZee World of “Yes I Can” in Chappaqua, NY, voted Westchester Magazine’s “Best of Westchester” for Best Party Place.  The “Mitzvah at WeeZee” competition asks b’nai mitzvah candidates to submit a video essay by November 1st explaining why they would be the best student to do their mitzvah project working with children on the autism spectrum at WeeZee World of “Yes I Can,” an 18,000 square foot sensory play space located in Chappaqua, NY.

The contestants will be judged on: message and appropriateness to theme, creativity and presentation. The five finalists will be notified; their names and videos will appear on WeeZee’s Facebook and YouTube pages and website. The five finalists have the opportunity to increase their chances of winning by getting a high number of people to like their video on WeeZee’s Facebook and YouTube pages. The winner will have the highest combined scores from both social media and the judges.
