Sips of the Season: Energizing Smoothies & Juices from Local Favorites

February 26, 2026 by Luísa Vieira

A s spring kicks off, there’s no better way to recharge than with a colorful, nutrient-packed sip. From energizing greens to tropical blends, our local cafes are serving up smoothies and juices that fuel both body and mind. Across Chappaqua, Armonk, and Pleasantville, these local eateries are turning simple ingredients into wellness boosts.

Chappaqua’s Green & Tonic

Green & Tonic’s Green Guru Smoothie

Green & Tonic’s Chappaqua location serves a community that values food that feels as good as it tastes. With a menu built around real, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, the cafe makes nourishing choices feel effortless and satisfying.

One must-try sip is the Green Guru Smoothie; a refreshing blend packed with greens and vitamins that delivers sustained energy. It’s the perfect pick-me-up after a hectic day, especially when paired with their plant-based protein-packed egg and cheese on ciabatta–a feel-good bite. The balance of greens and protein at Green & Tonic allows for ideal combos for staying energized without feeling weighed down.

From smoothies to protein-forward, gluten-free options, the cafe proves that wellness can be simple, nourishing, and truly delicious, or, as they like to say, “real food, real delicious.”

Armonk & Millwood’s Tazza Cafe

Tazza’s Banana Oat Protein Shake

The Tazza Cafes may be known for their premium, freshly roasted coffee and cozy cafe vibe, but their smoothies and shakes offer an equally energizing way to start the day. Alongside espressos, teas, and frozen favorites, blended beverages at Tazza Cafe provide comforting nourishment with a health-conscious twist.

One standout sip at Tazza–and my personal favorite–is the Banana Oat Protein Shake. This creamy blend delivers steady energy and natural sweetness without feeling heavy. It’s the perfect balance of enjoyment and nutrition, ideal for busy mornings or a post-workout refuel!

Owner James Monica says that the incorporation of healthy choices to the menu came from customer requests. He explains, “Protein shakes were one of the first additions and quickly caught on not only with the gym crowd but with all my other customers looking for a great tasting high-protein, healthier drink.”

By pairing wholesome ingredients with familiar flavors, Tazza makes health-forward choices feel easy and delightful. Whether enjoyed alongside a light breakfast or picked up on the go, their smoothies and protein shakes prove that fueling your body can still feel like a treat.

Pleasantville’s Root 2 Rise

Root 2 Rise’s Liquid Gold Juice

Pleasantville’s Root 2 Rise has become a local favorite for those who look to start their day with clean, energizing fuel. This cafe blends a warm community feel with a clear wellness mission: using raw fruits and vegetables to support gut health, balanced energy, and strong immunity.

Two of their standout drinks capture that approach perfectly. The Green Detox smoothie, made with fresh spinach, is a refreshing blend that supports digestion and helps keep blood sugar steady. Their popular Liquid Gold juice, crafted with turmeric and ginger, is an
immune-boosting elixir.

Root 2 Rise keeps nutrition at the center of every recipe with no added sugar, no seed oils, and a big focus on fiber and whole ingredients. “Food is information to your cells,” says co-founder Jyoti Tewani. “Your body is your temple…Eat food as medicine, three times a day, and you will never have to eat medicine.” Every drink at Root 2 Rise is intentionally crafted to do more than taste good–to help the body function at its best.

Nourishing Body and Community

Whether you’re craving a green detox, a citrus burst, or a creamy protein boost, local juice and smoothie bars are keeping northern Westchester vibrant this season. Each sip is a reminder that wellness can be delicious! Here’s to health, happiness, and a refreshing spring.
