Just some points of fact. If you were present for the original incarnation you would have been witness to a roster close to 30 people . Most of whom were neighbors or referrals. The large majority hadn’t played any kind of ball in 20 years or ever. A complete group of misfits. The name was more sarcasm than irony. WE SUCKED! A decision was made to better ourselves. I personally could not continue to play like that. So the process began. The very difficult decisions that followed eliminated some awesome guys dear fiends and well intentioned players . Then the ringers came. That was the beginning of the end but did bring our teams only championship. Our fun core of B quality players were being run off the team by A players. Completely my fault and something I regret. Feelings were hurt and the team was fractured. A players left and we needed regrowth….bring in the replacemnts …I thought it was appropriate at the time aparrently I was the only one. Subsequently I went through a very difficult separation from my wife that affected every aspect of my life including my ability to throw an arch pitching strike. Pitching and being in control of that team was the one thing I looked forward to most throughout year. When that was gone so was I. The dream team spawned 3 teams in the new castle league the matrix in the c the dirty Mac in the b and torchias or whatever they’re called now? Playing with my friends competively is one of my fondest memories.
And yes there is a trophy . It stands about 3 feet tall and is collecting dust in my basement
