Body Wise Connection Holds First Annual Bike Wise

May 8, 2012 by The Inside Press

On Saturday June 2, Body Wise Connection, a non-profit organization promoting healing through movement, will hold its first annual BIKE WISE, charity bike ride through the North County Trailway. Participants may join the 6 mile family ride beginning at 10 am or the 25 mile ride beginning at 9 am from the Rte. 117 Bike Trail Parking Lot in Pleasantville.

The Bike Wise event is $25 per person or $50 per family. All donations are tax deductible and water and snacks will be provided along the route. Yorktown Cycles will be hosting a refreshment pit stop as well as offering 20% off tune ups for bikes brought in before May 15 and 10% off merchandise (not including bikes) for all Body Wise Connection riders.

Bike Wise will take place rain or shine. All riders must wear bike helmets to participate in the family ride or the 25 mile ride.

The Body Wise Connection program offers closely guided supportive and hands-on instruction to enhance recovery for clients as they face the overwhelming realities of Breast Cancer diagnosis and treatment. Joy Puleo, Founder and Educational Director reports the organization is currently working with clients at Northern Westchester Hospital and Mt. Sinai’s Dubin Breast Center using Pilates, Gyrotonic, CoreAlign and Yoga movement modalities.
