Music in Chappaqua: For the Aspiring Rock Star!

January 27, 2012 by The Inside Press

SERVICES: New York Rock Academy offers a complete year-round Rock and Roll program suitable for all students from the complete beginner to the extremely talented artist who is ready to get into the recording studio.  During the summer, the school offers a day camp with six-week long sessions culminating with a live rock concert for friends and family at the end of each week.  During the school year, there are three, 10-12 week sessions that each culminate with a live Rock Concert in a New York City Rock Club. You can join as an already formed band or as an individual to be placed within a custom tailored Rock Band taking into consideration musical taste, experience, age and instrumentation.  “We keep bands limited in size, so each individual gets a chance to shine on stage,” says Angier. “This is a real life rock experience for the aspiring rock star.”

GREATEST STRENGTHS: The faculty is not only comprised of top New York City rock musicians, but these excellent teachers are committed to the growth and development of each and every student.  Their curriculum is custom tailored to the needs of the students facilitating a highly functioning rock band in the classroom and in performances.  Adds Angier: “Our mission is to have  everyone enrolled, confidently play what they love so they love what they play, and you will too!”
