Chappaqua PTA Meeting & Upcoming Events

October 13, 2013 by The Inside Press

pta-logoChappaqua PTA Fall Meeting

You’re invited to the fall meeting of the Chappaqua PTA taking place on Monday, 10/21, at 7:15pm at Bell Middle School.  You’ll have the opportunity to learn about district PTA programming on tap for this year at this informational meeting.  All are welcome!

VOTE on NOMINATING COMMITTEE proposed SLATE

Also at the Fall Meeting, as required by PTA bylaws, PTA members will be voting on the PTA’s 2013-14 Budget and on the PTA Executive Committee’s proposed slate of parent volunteers to serve on the 2013-14 PTA Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will identify and recruit candidates to serve as PTA officers for the 2014-15 school year.

SAVE the Dates!

The PTA is happy to offer many exciting fall events that are fun for the whole family.  All are welcome to these seasonal events:

  • Grafflin PTA Halloween Spooktacular, 10/26 from 12-3pm
This annual event, held at Grafflin, offers games, crafts, face painting, fortune tellers, a magic show and a good witch who passes out candy, along with a delicious and festive bake sale.  The Halloween Spooktacular is an exciting afternoon of fun and games, open to all Chappaqua children and their families, as well as neighboring communities.
  • 4th Annual Chappaqua Spelling Bee, 11/4 at 7pm, HGHS Gym
This event is actually hosted by SHARE (Students Have A Responsibility Everywhere) to benefit the Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund.  Register your team by 10/18 – and/or sign up to sponsor a team – to compete in the Spelling Bee.  There will be rounds for teams in the following categories: Middle School Students, Greeley Students, Greeley Seniors, Faculty/Administrators and Community Members.  Click here for details.
  • Chappaqua Craft Fair, 11/9, 10am-4pm
Where can you get all those hostess, holiday and birthday gifts/party favors in one place?  At the Craft and Gift Fair at Bell School! Over 75 vendors, including Bell students with their own wares, will be there – with food, a vendor raffle, and free admission!  Buy your gifts while supporting the Bell PTA’s biggest fundraiser.  Visit chappaquacraftfair.com for more details.
  • Westorchard Toy and Book Fair, 11/23,10am-2pm
This is the biggest fundraiser of the Westorchard PTA.  Donations of clean, new and used toys and books are being accepted in the school lobby through 11/8.  Items must be in good condition with all pieces intact. Stuffed animals, pillows, helmets and sleeping bags will not be accepted.
