Career Day is May 16th for our 8th graders. Career Day is a collaborative effort between the Chappaqua Central School District and the PTA Career Day Committees at the middle schools. It is structured to expose our children to a wide range of careers, to show them a variety of possibilities, and to start them thinking about choices to be made along their future career paths.
The program will begin with the keynote address by Mike Jbara, a Chappaqua Dad and President of ADA Worldwide, Warner Music Group. Then, the students will be divided into smaller groups and rotated through 4 sessions. There will be two professionals in each session representing six broad areas: Engineering & Technology, Arts & Humanities, Business & Information Systems, Natural & Agricultural Sciences, Human & Public Services, and Health Services.
We encourage all 8th grade parents to have a dialogue with their child about Career Day. In order to help you do this, we have included a brief introduction of our presenters below. We would also like to thank the presenters in advance for taking the time to enrich the academic experience for our children, and thank all our parent volunteers, who will help chaperone the eighth graders to each of their workshop sessions.
