It may be new to the scene, but Bellava Spa certainly feels well established. Owner and Entrepreneur Erica Breining has not missed a beat. From the Frette robes (they give you to wear during your treatment) and high-end unique products to a wide range of spa and medical services, Bellava MedAesthetics & Spa is the perfect marriage of a doctor’s office and a spa.

“At Bellava, we are passionate about beauty and wellness and take pride in offering each client attentive, highly individualized treatment, no matter what service they’re seeking,” said owner Erica Breining, a young entrepreneur who already owns a successful luxury handbag business. “So whether you’re seeking the safest, most effective laser liposuction procedure or a revitalizing body wrap, expect to feel pampered and relaxed.”

Bellava’s aestheticians and massage therapist provide traditional spa services including facials, massage, body treatments, and makeup services. On the medical side, Breining contracts with Dr. James Lyons, a plastic surgeon who has 30-plus years in cosmetic medicine. He is also the author of “The Brown Fat Revolution” and “Lose The Fat, Lose The Years,” and a nationally recognized expert on anti-aging, diet and exercise. He specializes in the non-surgical procedure SlimLipo™, the revolutionary body sculpting technology that permanently removes fat and tightens targeted body parts.

Other medical treatments performed at Bellava include laser hair removal, botox, fillers, laser skin resurfacing, Hydrafacial™ by Edge Systems, and vein removal. The spa also carries quality skin care lines such as Obagi and Revaleskin.

I decided to give their laser hair removal a try. Anne, my lovely and extremely knowledgeable aesthetician explained to me that the laser they use–the Palomar Icon™ is the most effective laser hair removal system on the market. I was game. As she started zapping, I definitely started squirming, but Anne was so swift and experienced, it was over in no time. I will definitely go back to complete the six sessions required for permanent hair removal (they are currently having a half-off promotion on this package).

Bellava’s spacious 3,000 square-feet setting was designed by a local architect and features a chic interior created by a Manhattan designer with high-modern furnishing by Jonathan Adler, Eames and Phillipe Starck.

“Our philosophy rests on what we call the essence of beauty, where inner and outer beauty are naturally linked. All of our premier cosmetic medical and aesthetic beauty and spa treatments have been carefully chosen to yield real and lasting results,” explains Breining. “Our goal is for Bellava to be an incomparable, standout experience that attracts people from all over the county.”

I think she’s definitely on to something.

Bellava MedAesthetics & Spa is open Monday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is closed Wednesdays and Sundays. For more information, call 914-864-2140 or visit www.bellavaspa.com.
